Political tensions are rising in Ghana after claims emerged that several Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) are pleading with former President John Dramani Mahama to intervene and protect Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.
Legal analyst Martin Kpebu alleged that growing pressure is being placed on the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), sparking fears over the future of Ghana’s anti-corruption fight.
According to him, many civic groups see Agyebeng as a key figure in the country’s campaign for accountability and transparency.
