Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has responded firmly to criticism from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, insisting that while his administration was not without errors, his leadership was guided by genuine commitment to national service.
Atiku had recently questioned Jonathan’s competence and experience in office, remarks that have now triggered a wave of political reactions across Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking at a public event in Abuja, Jonathan acknowledged the realities of governance but defended his legacy.
“If I made mistakes, yes — every leader does,” Jonathan said. “But I can confidently say I did my best for Nigeria.”
