President Tinubu Takes Shocking Decision Against Two Powerful Nigerians, and Here's What Happened

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a limited cabinet reshuffle, making changes to the composition of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

In a memo issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, two ministers, Wale Edun and Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, have been relieved of their positions, with successors already appointed.

Before the reshuffle, Edun served as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.

He has now been directed to transfer responsibilities to Taiwo Oyedele, who assumes the role after previously serving as Minister of State in the same ministry.

Additionally, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been nominated and designated as the incoming Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

Dangiwa is expected to hand over his duties to the current Minister of State in the ministry.

The directive mandates that all transition processes be completed no later than the close of business on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

According to Akume, the reshuffle is intended to improve coordination within the cabinet and accelerate the delivery of economic results in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He noted that the President exercised his authority under Sections 147 and 148 of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution (as amended) to implement these changes.

President Tinubu thanked the outgoing ministers for their contributions and wished them success in their future pursuits.

He also emphasized that ongoing efforts to strengthen governance remain a priority for his administration.

The statement was signed by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and dated April 20, 2026.
