The United Arab Emirates has signaled its readiness to back a potential U.S.-led military effort aimed at securing the vital Strait of Hormuz, amid rising geopolitical tensions with Iran.
In remarks reported by Fox News, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, emphasized that the narrow waterway, through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply flows, must remain open and secure for international use.
Gargash stressed that the UAE does not intend to independently police the strategic corridor but is prepared to participate in a coordinated international response.
According to him, Abu Dhabi would support any initiative led by the United States or a broader coalition focused on safeguarding maritime navigation.

The repeated concern, he underscored, is that no single nation should be able to exert unilateral control over such a critical artery of global trade.
While stopping short of outlining specific military commitments, Gargash made it clear that the UAE views collective action as essential, positioning the country as a willing partner in efforts to ensure the uninterrupted flow of commerce through one of the world’s most strategically sensitive chokepoints
